Southern Alberta is an agricultural powerhouse on the global stage, home to many of Canada’s leading international agribusiness companies and industry associations. With a mature agri-food research and development ecosystem and booming sub-sectors such as ag-tech and plant protein, southern Alberta is the place to grow.
Companies like McCain Foods, Cavendish Farms and Lamb Weston are global leaders in the potato processing, In fact, McCain Foods has recently made their largest global investment in its history through an historic doubling of their plant in Lethbridge County. With it has come spin off investments to support this expansion in the warehousing and logistics sectors. CPFC is also home to niche innovators, like Prairie Hills Farms and The Herbal Apothecary. Small, medium, and large agrifood business thrive here!
Additionally, businesses like PIP are paving the path forward for plant proteins. A collaborative business environment and easy access to North American and international markets make CPFC a compelling choice for agribusiness investment.
A key outcome for the work being done in Canada’s Premier Food Corridor is in attracting new investment to the region. Our goal is to add value to the crops that are grown here.
