Canada’s Premier Food Corridor (CPFC) is a collaboration of municipalities and Economic Development professionals dedicated to advancing the agri-food sector in Southern Alberta, Canada. By focusing on investment attraction, fostering innovation, and advocating for industry growth, CPFC drives regional development and competitiveness. Each participating municipality and economic development organization supports its local community while contributing to a shared vision of regional growth, innovation, and opportunity.

Our mission is to accelerate the growth and competitiveness of the agri-food sector within Southern Alberta’s CPFC region.
As a consortium of communities and Economic Development professionals, we work together to attract investment, advocate for industry advancement, and foster a collaborative approach to agri-food development. - Attracting and Retaining Businesses: Facilitating the expansion of existing enterprises and attracting new investments in food production, processing, and agri-tech innovation.
- Strengthening Industry Clusters: Building a dynamic agri-food cluster that promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and value-chain integration.
- Workforce Development: Developing a skilled, future-ready workforce through education, training, and career pathway initiatives in collaboration with schools, post-secondary institutions, and industry partners.
- Promoting Sustainability and Innovation: Advancing environmentally sustainable practices, supporting technological innovation, and fostering solutions for a resilient and adaptive agri-food system.
- Advocacy and Industry Leadership: Serving as a unifying voice for the agri-food sector, advocating for policy improvements, infrastructure investments, and regulatory support to position the CPFC as a global leader in food production.

Sandra Dufresne
Cluster Development Manager
Sandra is deeply committed to fostering opportunities and creating connections. She joined Economic Development Lethbridge in September 2023 to focus on attracting agrifood investments to Canada’s Premier Food Corridor. With extensive experience in the post-secondary sector, Sandra has excelled in partnership and fund development, external relations, and communications. Her career is marked by successful advocacy efforts across all levels of government.
Driven by her passion for highlighting the strengths of southern Alberta, Sandra leverages her expertise to forge impactful relationships that promote and advance the region’s food corridor.

Paloma Navarro
Industry Engagement Coordinator
Paloma brings over 20 years of experience supporting entrepreneurs and leading economic development initiatives across North and South America. Originally from Chile, she holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in Computer Arts & Communications, and a Diploma in Quality Management Systems.
With expertise in strategic planning, project management, and partnership development, Paloma has worked across the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Her entrepreneurial ventures in tourism, as a restaurant owner, and consulting provide her with valuable insight into the challenges faced by business owners.
As Industry Engagement Coordinator for Canada’s Premier Food Corridor, Paloma is dedicated to fostering collaboration, supporting workforce development, and accelerating growth in the region’s agri-food sector.

The Highway 4 Corridor is at the crossroads of trade.
Highway 3 bisects the region east to west, providing road and rail access to Vancouver and Seattle in one direction, and Chicago in the other.
Highway 36 is a high-load corridor that serves as the transportation corridor from the United States through to the oilsands in Northern Alberta.
The Canamex Highway provides access north to Calgary and Edmonton, and south to California, Texas, and Mexico.
